Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Forem Tasks ("we," "our," or "us") governing your use of the Forem Tasks mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

Description of Service

Forem Tasks is a task management application that allows you to:

• Create, organize, and manage tasks and to-do lists
• Set due dates and reminders for your tasks
• Organize tasks into custom lists
• Star and prioritize important tasks
• Sync your tasks across multiple devices (when signed in)
• Use the app offline with local storage

User Accounts

Account Creation

You may use Forem Tasks without creating an account (offline mode). To access cloud sync features, you must sign in using your Google account. By signing in, you authorize us to access certain information from your Google account as described in our Privacy Policy.

Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You shall not:

• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Transmit any malicious code, viruses, or harmful data
• Use the Service to store or transmit illegal, harmful, or objectionable content
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Collect or harvest user information without consent
• Use automated systems to access the Service without permission

User Content

Ownership

You retain ownership of all content you create within the Service, including tasks, lists, notes, and other data ("User Content"). We do not claim any ownership rights over your User Content.

License to Us

By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.

Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for your User Content. We do not monitor or control User Content and assume no liability for any content you create or store.

Intellectual Property

The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality (excluding User Content), is owned by Forem Tasks and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent.

Third-Party Services

The Service may contain links to or integrations with third-party services, including Google Sign-In and Google Firebase. These third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party services.

Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times. The Service may be subject to:

• Scheduled maintenance and updates
• Unscheduled downtime due to technical issues
• Interruptions beyond our control

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without prior notice.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
• FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
• NON-INFRINGEMENT
• ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF CONTENT

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FOREM TASKS AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill
• Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service
• Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data

In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Forem Tasks and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another party
• Your User Content

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.

You may terminate your account at any time by using the delete account feature within the app. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the updated Terms on this page
• Updating the "Last updated" date
• Sending you a notification through the app (for significant changes)

Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Forem Tasks regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
